In todays world there are so many user id's, codes, passwords, and keys, that it is often difficult to remember them all. Now "Keep It (a) Secret!" can help you - remember just one secret code, and you can have all your other user id's, codes, passwords, and keys, stored in just one place. Easy and secure to manage. "Keep It (a) Secret!" "Keep It (a) Secret!" is a program made by Rene Michael. Rene Michael has also made the programs Amateur Invest (a stock and investment management tool), and DataShow (a multimedia program). The program is free - but donations are welcome. Please look at the internet site mentioned below, where you can find mail addresses and much more. Please feel free to visit the internet site of this program at: - - - - How to use. In the large text area in the window, you can enter any text you like. For example on each line you can enter a reminder text, and then the code. Like this: Credit card A xxxx PC bank You then enter a code in the upper right hand corner, and a filename. When you push the save button, the text you have entered, will be saved in a way so that no one else, that does not have the code, can read the text. Later, when you wish to retrieve the text, you enter the code, the filename, and push the load button. Buttons. These buttons and mouse presses can be used in the program. When you have entered a code, use this button to read a file. When you have entered a code, use this button to save a file. When you have entered a text, use this button to find/continue finding the text. Use this button to transfer the program and code file to a diskette. See more below. If you are donwloading a file from the internet, and you are using a proxy server, then set it here. If you push the right mouse button in the text area, you'll be given a choise to clear, copy and paste. All other keys can be used as usual in the text area to write any text you like. Taking the codes with you. One of the advantages of this program, is that it is kept small, and easy to use. - This means that you can keep it on one diskette - so that you have the program and the code file - together on one diskette. Or have the program on a diskette, and the code file on an internet site. If you would like to keep the program and the code file on a diskette to carry around with you, you can use the "Transfer" button. Insert a formatted diskette in your computer, and push the button. The files will be copied to the diskette. Now you can carry it with you, and when you need your codes, insert the diskette into a computer, select the "Start / Run" option in Windows, and select the file "Kis.exe". Use the program to retrieve your codes. - - - - A little about codes. You should use codes that are difficult to discover, and also you should not write them down. One way to make codes difficult to discover is to use long codes, that include numbers, and a mix of small and capital letters. An example could be like this: Igo2worKat8 In this example there are a mix of different letters and numbers, and it is somewhat easy to remember, without having to write it down - "I go to work at eight"... Codes in the program should be a least 6 letters/numbers long. - - - - Security. No one else but you, knows or can find the code. The text is encrypted with that code, and nobody else - with any other code - can look at the text. The encryption algoritm used to alter the text is very advanced, and is not likely to be broken. So if you loose your code, your text is lost. No one, not the maker of the program, nor anyone else, can help you restore your text. That is your security! But after all - now you only have to remember this one code, and all your other codes can be found there! That is for your comfort!
